Join me and a bunch of other New Jersey free software supporters in Boston at the Free Software Foundation's (FSF) annual Associate Membership Meeting (AMM) on Saturday, March 24th 2007.
This'll be my third year in attendance and I expect another amazing speech from Eben Moglen, general counsel and board member of the FSF. My friend Beth said, ``[Moglen's] talk alone (full of juicy gossip about under-the-table deals in the software industry) is worth the price of membership, and you can think of the rest of the conference as a freebie!'' The GPLv3 is supposed to be released in March and one of Moglen's outfits, the Software Freedom Law Centre, recently audited the Microsoft-Novell deal; do expect some fascinating war stories.
Richard Stallman and some of the other board members will probably also speak. Those other board members include Henri Poole, who spent this year running the Defective by Design anti-digital restrictions management (DRM) campaign; Gerald Sussman, inventor of Scheme, hacker legend, and MIT professor; and Lawrence Lessig, founder of Creative Commons and professor of Law at Stanford.

Travel and Other Details
I invite you to join us in traveling to and returning from Boston and to
share hotel rooms. You'll save a bundle of money and will be in
the constant company of hackers from New Jersey. Last year, several of
us explored Boston the day after the meeting (Sunday), and I think we'll
do something similar this year.
I heartell that, unlike Star Trek movies, the odd numbered meetings are the best. This is the fifth annual meeting; contact me if your interested in joining us.
